A Makeup Look with No Name
Written @ 8:23 PM
2012-07-15

This look really doesn't have a name. I don't know what to call it. XD The colors would have shown up so much better if I had an actual digital camera. D: For now, my iPod will have to do.

Used
-Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer (Normal)
-Sedona Lace 168 Pro Palete First Edition
-Avon Bonus Size Eyeliner in Blue
-Buxom Lash Mascara
-Eye Mucus Double Eyelid Glue
-Taiwanese Eyelashes (Natural/Regular Version)
-Sephora Creme Blush in Flashy Fuchsia N 6
-Urban Decay Baked Bronzer in Baked
-MAC lipstick in Touch (Lustre)
-MAC lipglass in Pink Poodle

The look was inspired by ulovemegz Nicki Minaj VMA look and I was trying to mix in Viva Glam Nicki with it. The pink was way too bright for the eyes so I toned it down.

First I lined my lower lid and brought it out to a bit of a wing. Then I put the green color all over my lid. The part of the liner that was a "wing" was smudged/blended in and then I used a dark blue eyeshadow from the palette to blend it more. I really love the way it turned out.

Then for highlight I used a pale/white/sparkly color under my brows and a little in the corner of my eye. Not too much though. I wanted to stay away from making the entire inner corner white/sparkly and lose some of the green.

Mascara was applied after and then I applied lashes with this double eyelid glue called Eye Mucus. I don't like the name, but the product works well for lashes. I don't need to create a double eyelid effect because I have it naturally. I saw some people use this glue for their eyelashes and tried it and it is soooo much gentler than the one I used by iKiss. The iKiss one was hard to get off, hard to get on, messy, and it burned when I washed my eyes. Horrid.

With creme blush: USE VERY LITTLE
I used only a little on my kabuki brush and got damn the color. I know it's an intense pink, but a little definitely goes a long way when it comes to blending it out. It goes very well with almost anything if you blend it properly.

Beacause I messed up a bit on the blush and one side was really intense (I have a bold eye color and didn't want the cheeks to be too bold), I used a bit of the bronzer. It's a pale-ish pink and evened it out a bit. It also adds a great glow to any skin tone.

For my lips, at first I had Viva Glam Nicki, More to Love Prolong Wear, and Pink Poodle on. This is how I wear VGN when I want a bright pink lip, however it was too bright for the eyes. First I put on Touch which is a brown that goes on pretty nude for me (probably because of my lip color) and then applied Pink Poodle on top to mix some pink into it.

And that's how I did it. :D
I don't do my eyebrows because I don't do my eyebrows. I don't wanna do them wrong and be like UGH! D: So yeah. I leave 'em alone. XD

It's been so long, I know. DX I'm going to make a short review post.

I've had this mascara for a while, but I haven't used it because I was using others. Yeah, no special reason why. It was from the Sephora mascara sample set that I got Christmas 2010. I love that set so much. I'm on the second to last one. After this I am going to get another sample set (hopefully it's still around).

I put it on today and I love how it literally glides onto my lashes. It feels very smooth, darkened my lashes, gave decent volume, and doesn't clump- instead it separated my lashes. No matter how long my lashes are they love to cross into each other and sometimes they don't point out- they'll all point in different directions. Another plus to it is that it washes off well. I hate when I think I've washed off my mascara just to look up at the mirror and see traces of it left (even when using natural soap to wash my face). It washed off clean and I was like, "Hallelujah!" I really like how it looks and feels so it's definitely going to be one of my favorites (right next to Maybelline Colossal Volume, Josie Maran Instant Natural Volume Argan Mascara, and Laura Mercier Thickening and Building Mascara).

My lashes aren't as long as they used to be. I'm going to get another tube of Josie Maran soon hopefully because that grew my lashes. Argan oil and African shea butter are two natural things that WILL grow your lashes. Hopefully I'll get back into the shea butter habit. >.<

I really hope I'm not going to abandon this blog again. ;-; I has so much pwetty stuffs I got from Sephora and MAC in May and I wanna put them here and review and write about my hair journey and post makeup I did and stuff I wanna try and more stuffs. TToTT

Applying Eyelashes
Written @ 10:09 PM

I just want to post this to my blog so I can find it easily. That and so anyone else who views it has a good video for applying eyelashes. I just bought some. i-Envy by kiss Juicy Volume 02. Here they are. I cut them a little on the insides so it wasn't too long for my eye.

1 Year Later
Written @ 7:31 PM
As I was watching some videos on ApHogee products, I noticed that yesterday marked 1 year on my HHJ. Now I didn't work as hard as I could have nor have I sticked to my regimen completely, but my hair did make some improvement.

My hair used to break A LOT. It did not feel soft, it didn't move, nothing. It got a little stronger (after washing and deep conditioning regularly) and longer (after using the greenhouse effect from Real Queens for 5 months) but it hasn't been doing so well lately.

I skipped a couple of washes and deep conditions here and there even though by now I should know how BADLY my hair needs both of those, but after seeing the amount of breakage I had after detangling my hair on my wash day, I was scared. It was around the same amount I had before I started my HHJ. It could be because of my new growth or because I didn't detangle properly, but it still shows that I was not taking care of my hair like I should have.

I will hopefully be posting a list of the products I plan to use soon. I may or may not take out a couple of products I currently have. I may or may not keep all the products I have and only use the ones I don't like so much for certain things. I'm still not sure about it especially since I want to do hot oil treatments and use the ApHogee regimen. I've seen a couple of good reviews on it and I just got their pro-vitamin leave-in so I'll think about what I'm going to do. For now I'll just try to wash my hair and deep condition every week, do more research, and think about what will work best.

I'm also overdue for a trim. I mean waaayyyy overdue. I didn't relax my hair for 5 months in the beginning of the year and didn't ask for a trim when I did get it done. It's been 9, almost 10, weeks since that last relaxer. That makes it about 7 months without trimming and I've seen a couple of split ends. There's some... or alot of areas where my hair thins out towards the end. It's not full. It's a bit of a mess, but I'm going to have hope for it.

College is starting for me soon so I hope it won't stress me out too much to the point where it affects my hair and I don't take care of it the way I should. It's going to be a tough year, but I think I'll get through it.

I'm not sure if I should call this year two of my hair journey..... Ah, why not? I'll just say that I had some success in the first year and learned a lot, but in the second year I'll try harder. I really want to be BSL and.... Wow, I have no idea where my hair length is right now. I should wait until after I get a relaxer to see. If I remember correctly, it was completely hitting my shoulder in May, but I've had breakage since then, so I'm not sure if it's still like that now. My left side is also shorter than my right side, but the greenhouse effect really helps me gain length and I'm hoping I can even out the two sides soon.

Next post: Only a list of the products I have because I'm too lazy to type extra stuff.

Must achieve soft hands... NOW
Written @ 10:11 PM
http://www.wikihow.com/Get-Soft-Hands

Just posting that so I can easily find that. After meeting Girugamesh at Anime Boston 2011 and giving them high 5's, (>w<) I keep remembering how soft and smooth their hands were.

They are men. Who play instruments which usually if not always give you rough hands. (I would know being a bassist for 3 years.)

The guys I know 99.99% of the time NEVER have soft hands. It's like touching sandpaper.
Okay, I'm exaggerating a little, but you get my point.

Their hands were like.... like..... angels' hands. XD

So yeah.
I want those hands now.

My hands are smooth and kind of soft (in my POV), but it's not like theirs. I need more moisture added. My skin has this tendency to slurp up any kind of moisturizer and then act as if it was never applied. ._.

I'm going to try this for about two weeks or four weeks and then post my results. Let's hope it works! For the sake of my hands.... (*TдT*)

Hair Products as of 2011/04/03

Shampoo

ORS Olive Oil Creamy Aloe
  • This is my clarifying shampoo. This gives me so much lather that the first time I used it, I called my mom and said, "Mom! There's too much lather! Help me!" and she just said, "WTH?" and laughed.

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Cream Lather
  • This is the shampoo I use every week, except for when I clarify. It has a nice, simple smell to it and it's not over-powering. (I try to make sure my hair products don't have too strong of a smell to them. The only ones that do are my V05 conditioners.) It cleans my hair, adds moisture, and makes it soft and silky.

Conditioner
V05 Moisturizing Conditioners
  • I've been using v05 shampoos and conditioners since I was a child. I'd always make sure my mom got matching scents so they wouldn't clash and because I was so opinionated and specific back then. (I still am now. Nope..... I'm even worse now. XD) My mom would always condition my hair with these. The smell stayed in my hair for a long time, but I never minded because they always smelled good. It would always soften my hair and I had some VERY curly and tough hair as a child. I'm back to using these in the middle of the week or every other week as a co-wash. Here are the scents I have:
-Free Me Freesia
-Strawberries & Cream
-Passion Fruit Smoothie

Deep Conditioner
Organics by Africa's Best Olive Oil Deep Conditioner
  • This product right here..... saved my hair. It makes my new growth so manageable and soft. It's helped my hair get healthy and has helped to strengthen it. I love love love this. A close friend (Thanks Wynter!!!) had it and let me borrow it, and it worked miracles on my hair. It's at a good price too.

Protein Treatment
Organics by Africa's Best Hair Mayonnaise
  • After using this, I fell in love with all the products by Africa's Best. I'm going to start trying them one by one because they work much better on my hair than the ones by ORS. They're a lot cheaper as well. The protein treatment makes my hair hard only if I don't deep condition afterwards. I didn't use my deep conditioner the first time I used this and the second time I used it I used my deep conditioner before it instead of afterwards. I learned my lesson: ALWAYS deep condition AFTER a protein treatment. This hair mayonnaise further stopped the breakage problem I was having and that's my main reason for continuing to use it.

Moisturizer/Leave-In Conditioner

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave-In Cream
  • This is one of my daily moisturizers. It does make my hair a little wet, but it moisturizes it without weighing it down, which I am so happy about.

Doo Gro Mega Thick Leave-In Gro Strengthener
  • I recently purchased this because a close friend (Thanks Marie!!!) said that she used it on her hair ONCE and her hair got so much thicker afterwards. She's part Hispanic so she already had some thickness, but this made it even thicker. I'm hoping my hair is like hers someday. XD

ORS Moisturizing Hair Lotion
  • I don't use this every day because it weighs my hair down after a couple of days and there's some petroleum in it. The petroleum makes it only coat my hair after a while instead of allowing the product to penetrate it. I will use this once in a while to add moisture to my hair when it's really dry. I won't use it after that because my hair ends up drying out by the next week or two. I don't understand it, but that's just how it works for my hair. Some other people get good results from it, but it works differently for me.

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Split End Mender
  • I haven't trimmed my hair in a while because I usually let my hair dresser do it for me on my relax day. It's been three months since I last went to her, so I've tried to trim my own ends, but I'm afraid that I may have missed some or many areas since there are a couple of layers to my hair. I haven't seen many split ends in my hair after using this. There are a couple here and there every.... um, three weeks or so, but split ends have never been a problem for me.

Oils
Goya Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • This..... I've had sooo much new growth than what I used to see thanks to this. I use it for the greenhouse effect from RealQueens and the new growth just keeps coming in! It really locks in the moisture in my hair and makes it soft and smooth. My hair wasn't so soft after not washing or conditioning for a while with the move and all and this really saved it!

ORS Coconut Oil
  • I use this oil when I'm not using the EVOO. It has a lovely smell and makes my hair very soft. My mother has taken a liking to it as well.

Sheen Spray
ORS Olive Oil Nourishing Sheen Spray
  • I don't use this a lot. I mainly use it for when I do roller sets or for when I want to add a bit of shine to my hair.

For Hold
Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion
  • My hair stylist uses this for roller setting my hair and I picked it up because my roller sets weren't coming out too well. The body and curl would disappear. I'm going to see how this works in holding my Bantu Knot-outs today. I'm hoping it works well since I haven't gotten the chance to get some Bee Mine Curly Butter. Traycee from K.I.S.S. has made me want to try these products for a while, but I can't order anything online yet since I'll currently have problems receiving the package unless it's sent to a friend's house.

ORS Olive Oil Smooth-N-Hold Pudding
  • I only use this to prevent fly-aways when my hair is pulled back or up. It smells nice and it doesn't make my hair hard like many other products would.

I think that's it for my hair products. If not, I'll edit this post and add it. I hope this helps anyone that read it!
